Being Human's Story

Climbing up the wobbly stairs to their house, one would expect somewhat of a sad sight. But far from it, a hyper, little, well-fed puppy received us with much happiness. As we entered, we saw the father, delighted with the company. His son is a student at Santacruz Muncipal School supported by Aseema was still in classes when we visited. When asked about his son's performance, the father gushed about how boys usually shy away, and keep things from the family! But he looked confident that his son was determined to study and do something to take their family out of the current situation.

Fighting cancer, the father does his best to leave personal worries aside and takes up as many jobs as possible to supplement income. What was truly shocking was that they didn't even own this home they were housed in! After losing everything and more to corrupt relatives, they are trying to give themselves a new lease of life. And the boy is doing his very best to make his father proud of him, one school year at a time.
